Kihei & Wailuku: Work & Learn Day This Saturday!

We’re getting geared up for another amazing year of outdoor learning and you’re invited to this special Second Saturday Work & Learn Day to help us get the gardens ready for new crops and hands-on learning in science, math, history, Hawaiian Studies and more!  This Saturday, we have 3 schools participating in South Maui — Kihei Elementary, Kihei Charter Middle and Kamali’i Elementary Schools — and 1 Central Maui location — Wailuku Elementary School.

Learn how to cover crop gardens and restore soil health with nitrogen fixing plants. Adopt a garden plant from our new nursery. Dig into a day of garden care conditioning soil, planting, making garden signs, composting, tending worms, creating new planting spaces, weeding, mulching and helping the garden transition into a new life cycle.

Good fun and sharing food with neighbors. Bring the family!
