NOAA fisheries semi-annual Main Hawaiian Islands Monk Seal Count
Little Monk Seal Montessori participates in the NOAA fisheries semi-annual Main Hawaiian Islands Monk Seal Count on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 from 9AM-12AM. This event is open to all who wish to attend, and Little Monk Seal Montessori encourages everyone to join in on the fun!
The Main Hawaiian Island Monk Seal Count is a chance for all Maui residents to help clean up the seals’ shoreline habitat and spend a morning walking the beautiful coastlines of Maui. Of course, trying to spot a seal is a huge part of the mission on Saturday. Learning, stewardship and fun for the whole family is what the event is all about, which is why Little Monk Seal Montessori will be there!

See, touch, and learn about Hawaii’s marine invertebrates with a marine naturalist! Encounter Hawaii’s tide pool critters during a fun, interactive presentation. A marine naturalist will conduct the presentation from within the Discovery Pool or Tide Pool exhibit with sea cucumbers, sea stars, urchins, and other critters. Included with Aquarium admission.

Featuring a monthly, rotating- themed Exploration Station at Maui Ocean Center’s Living Reef! Speak with a marine naturalist and learn about turtles in August, marine debris in September, and marine invertebrates in October.
