Paddle Imua
Imua Family Services along is proud to announce the Fifth Annual BLUESMTIHS Paddle Imua (BPI) on Saturday, May 7, 2016. A physical embodiment of the Hawaiian word Imua (“to move forward”). A post-race ‘Ohana Festival will follow at Hawaiian Canoe Club. The public is invited to enjoy entertainment, prize draws, Grom Camp, SIC Maui Relay and more. Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, Like Poke and Sporting Club of The Pacific are just a few vendors that will be in attendance. Trophies will be given to the top three finishers in each division. Online REGISTRATION is currently LIVE and will close on May 5th. Day-of-Race registration will be available for an additional $20.

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will celebrate Kodomo-no- hi or Boys Day on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10:00am to 12:00noon. Holokai Club will be featuring carp fish crafts, which symbolize strength and success, and the first 250 keiki will receive blue balloons. The Boys Day crafts event will be in conjunction with the Police Week Kickoff educational event and Tap 2016 – Tap into Child Safety with Judy’s Gang. This holiday was originally brought to the islands by Japanese immigrants.
