Upcountry Pool to Host Special Olympics Fundraiser

Wailuku, Maui, Hawai`i The County of Maui, Department of Parks & Recreation Aquatics Division has announced the closure of the Upcountry Pool in Pukalani on Saturday, May 21, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the Special Olympics Maui, Swim & Fin event. Participants have solicited pledges per lap and monies will be used to offset expenses to the State Special Olympics Competition on Oahu.

The public is encouraged to attend to support all participants however the pool will not be available for free swim until after the event is over.

Join a Wet Naturalist at the Discovery Pool and/or Tide Pool for exciting hands-on presentations on Hawaii’s marine invertebrates. Along with learning all about sea cucumbers, sea stars and urchins, guests will have the chance to touch a few of the live spineless creatures! Included with Aquarium admission.

Featuring a monthly, rotating-themed Exploration Station at The Living Reef! Speak with a marine naturalist, see live animals, look through microscopes, and interact with other station features.
