Kahului Public Library will offer free events in July to celebrate the conclusion of its 2015 HSPLS Summer Reading Programs.
* July 18 (Saturday), 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – “Super Hero Face Painting with Cirque du Jolie,” Children’s Area. Keiki ages 2 and older as well as adults are invited to get their faces painted like their favorite super hero by Cirque du Jolie, a Maui event entertainment group. Young keiki must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Ever wonder what happens to young honu, or Hawaiian green sea turtles, after they hatch and make their way to the open ocean? Discover a “honu” world with a Marine Naturalist as your guide. You’ll learn about the “Lost Years”, find out how the turtles at the Aquarium are cared for. Enjoy venturing behind-the-scenes and helping with a feed at the Turtle Lagoon! $10 plus Aquarium admission.

Talk Story & Hula Lessons with Kahu Dane Maxwell and ‘Ohana

Learn about Hawaii’s beloved green sea turtles in an up close and personal setting. Guests will learn about the biology, behavior and diet of green sea turtles from the team that cares for the animals on a daily basis. This activity is included with Aquarium admission.
