Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6 pm to 9 pm, Makawao Third Friday has the theme of “Cupids and Cowgirls” featuring Maui’s fun pop / rock band, Luna Overdrive on our mainstage next to Rodeo General Store..

Director Benny Uyetake will present the talented and popular Kalama Intermediate School Ukulele Band in the Maui Handslot.

Tom Jones will be playing his Handpan Drum on the corner of Makawao Ave and Baldwin Ave, and the delightful Pearl Rose will be singing her incredible repertoire next to the Antique Boutique located down Baldwin Avenue.

We are excited to continue our KEIKI ZONE, located in the Komoda Bakery parking lot. We are happy to announce thatMelissa Buck of Rainbow Chameleon Art will do her one-of-a-kind creative face painting, Chrystaline with her fantastic ballooncreations, and DeBorah Tindall will present her charming puppet show. Monkeypod Art Studio will be hosting fun hands-oncraft activities.

Join us for dinner at one of our award winning Makawao Restaurants or enjoy our variety of food trucks on MakawaoAvenue. This is a rain or shine FREE community event. This is a road closure event from 5:15-9:30 PM.

World Whale Day

The Festival includes World Whale Day & Parade of Whales. The Keiki Carnival features bouncy castles, crafts, games, face painting, cotton candy, shave ice, and plenty of engaging activities for the young and young at heart.

The Keiki Stage is back by popular demand, with entertainment for the young and young-at-heart, including: Banana Slug String Band, Maui Aerial Arts, Canada’s Chestermere Concert Band, and a special Ulalena performance from Maui Theatre.

The Keiki Carnival is bigger and better than ever this year, with keiki hula and lei po’o making, henna and face painting, cotton candy, hot dogs and shave ice, bouncy castles and Maui Spider Jump — Hawaii’s only reverse bungee trampoline system. Kids will have a whale of a time!
