Fins & Flippers Tour Upgrade

Fridays only in August and September; Tuesdays and Fridays in October 

11:30am and 1:30pm

Join a knowledgeable Ocean Naturalist and discover fascinating facts about sharks and sea turtles. The tour includes a behind-the-scenes visit to the Aquarium’s wet laboratory and chance to observe the feeding habits of sharks and sea turtles. Fees are applicable to parents and guardians accompanying children on the tour. Space is limited and advance reservations are recommended. $10 per person plus admission. Sea Turtle Tour

Explore the graceful world of green sea turtles with an exciting behind-the-scenes tour, supervised feed at Turtle Lagoon, and more! Package includes a choice of lunch or snack option from the Reef Café. Space is limited and reservations are recommended at 808-270-7088.

Story Time Saturdays

Saturdays,August–October at 11:30am

Children ages 3-12 are invited to a captivating story time followed by a fun ocean-themed craft! Story Time & Craft Hour is hosted by an Ocean Naturalist and takes place every Saturday at 11:30am in Maui Ocean Center’s Hawaiians and the Sea Exhibit.

Talk Story & Hula Lessons with Kahu Dane Maxwell and ‘Ohana 

Tuesdays, August–October at 11:45am

Visitors to Maui Ocean Center will have an opportunity to hear from Maui Ocean Center’s Hawaiian Cultural Advisor Kahu Dane Maxwell and take in a hula lesson. Kahu Dane Maxwell and ‘Ohana (family) will conduct a talk story session and hula lesson at the Hawaiians and the Sea exhibit. This activity is complimentary with aquarium admission and appropriate for all ages. Schedule subject to change.

WHEN: Sunday Aug 31st. 11am to 12pm for special needs families. 12pm to 3pm general public. Its an open event so show up between those times and we will get you in a heat with in 15-20 minutes of showing up.

WHERE: Maui Tropical Plantation front lawn

*Obstacles/games & scavenger hunts on a 1/2 mile grass/dirt/mud/water course. OVER $1500 in gifts & Prizes along the whole course. Prizes coupons are set randomly around obstacles by our Morey Menehune so look good. Prizes include restaurant coupons, kids toys, cell phone accessories, health and wellness gift bags and much much more. (at our 1st mini Morey challenge we had a gopro, there could be one at Mini 2 you never know, and you can’t win if you don’t enter to play)

*Training tips & techniques from some of the top trainers & gyms on maui

*Music/DJ’s as well as food & craft area


What you should bring: Sunblock, bathing suit, change of clothes (you will get wet and dirty), beach chair/umbrella, water and your willingness to have fun. As well, there will be food/beverages to purchase on site and water handed out on the course for participants only, but its always good to have your own water and some cash on hand to visit our food and craft vendors.
