MAUI FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES is an amazing and impactful non-profit organization, 33 years strong, who’s mission is to Strengthen families in order to prevent Child Abuse and Neglect.
They are holding their annual fundraiser on SATURDAY APRIL 26, 2014 @ Makena Beach & Golf Resort. It’s going to be a really fun event. It’s a murder mystery dinner.

SOME FACTS ABOUT MAUI FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES
*         In 2013 MFSS served over 5500 individuals
*         All services are confidential and provided at no cost to families
*         Early Head Start services include Specialists ( Registered Nurse for health,  Mental Health, Education,  Disabilities, Registered Dietician, and Family/Community ) so that children are healthy and enter school ready to learn
*         Clinical  Specialist services for domestic violence, substance abuse and mental health concerns of parents
*         MFSS provides services to fathers to support their ongoing and positive involvement in the lives of their child(ren) lives .  Services to  male teens to ensure their role in teen pregnancy prevention
*         MFSS services in the schools to middle and high school students for Life Skills (c) to prevent teen pregnancy and substance use.
*         MFSS provides Drop-Out Prevention services to middle school students to help ensure they stay in school and graduate.
*         Over 90% of our funds go to direct services and the administrative costs all support our ability to provide direct services ( e.g. electricity, gas for vehicles, insurance, staff to ensure excellent stewardship and reporting of funds, staff to write grants to generate funds, etc.).
*         MFSS provide early identification and services for children with disabilities.
*         MFSS screen parents giving birth at Maui Memorial hospital 360 days per year  for co-occurring risk factors for CAN. Families who screen positive are offered serves. Those who screen negative or do not want serves are still provided with a Resource Kit for parents  ( breastfeeding, child development, info on importance of father involvement, community resources for food,/housing/childcare, resources for financial assistance, info on  smoking cessation and shaken baby syndrome, etc.) .
*         MFSS accredited by the International Council on Accreditation and received and expedited ( highest level) accreditation  for programs, services, administration, management and finance.
*         MFSS is partnering with Kamehameha School and Hana School to open the first licensed infant toddler center in Hana.
*         MFSS provides child care subsidy to include eligible parents who cannot afford  child care so they can obtain or maintain employment.
