Kalama Intermediate School Fright Night
It’s baaaaack! Fright Night, featuring one of Maui’s scariest Halloween Haunted Houses, is back, materializing for one night only, Saturday, October 25, at the Kalama Intermediate School campus in Makawao!
For those who dare, the Haunted House will begin terrifying guests at 4:30 p.m. and continue until 9:30. For kids age 6 and under (or the faint-of-heart) special times will be designated as kid-friendly walk-throughs and include an opportunity to trick-or-treat! There will be jumping castles, games and glitter tattoos as well!
In addition to touring the terrifying Haunted House, ghosts and ghouls of all ages can enjoy the Fright Night Gallery of Games, food booths with a variety of grinds and sweet treats (including cotton candy), a photo booth, a fortune-teller, face painting and much more!
Got a great costume? Enter the “Amazing Costume Contest” and show it off! The VIP witch judges will award prizes to those with the best Halloween costumes in categories including “Cutest Costume,” “Scariest Costume” and “Most Original Costume.”
So, join the Fright Night fun upcountry on Saturday, October 25, and risk a trip through what many call Maui’s best Haunted House! All Fright Night profits will benefit the Kalama School Music Program and student clubs.

Public Libraries Will Host Halloween Programs in October 2014
“Halloween Hilarity: Not Too-Spooky Stories, Songs and Fun.” Keiki ages 3 and older are invited to a special Halloween storytime event featuring Storytellers Peter and Melinda Wing on Oct. 25, 10:30 a.m. at Kahului Public Library (873-3097); Oct. 27, 1:10 p.m. at Hana Public & School Library (248-4848); and Oct. 30, 10 a.m. at Makawao Public Library (573-8785). The Maui Friends of the Library is sponsoring the Wing’s performances. Oct. 28, 6 p.m., Kahului Public Library Adult Reading Section – “Tita Tells Spooky Stories!” Award-winning Maui storyteller Kathy Collins and her alter ego “Tita” will share spooky stories inspired by Hawaiian legends and spine-tingling tales from other countries and cultures. The Maui Friends of the Library is sponsoring this event which is suitable for all ages. Call 873-3097.

“Halloween in Lahaina” returns to world famous Front Street on Friday, October 31, 2014. Highlights include the 36th Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30pm. Maui keiki are invited to come in costume and parade down Front Street to Banyan Tree Park, receive a congratulatory ribbon and bag of treats.
