Staying cool and having fun are usually at the top of every kid’s list for summertime. Here are some fun water games for them to play.Screen Shot 2015-05-21 at 10.04.37 PM

Ice Cube Painting: Grab ice cube trays and fill them with water. Mix watercolors in each cube spot. Freeze overnight. Pop them into a bowl the next day and head outdoors for some colorful, messy fun. Your keiki can paint onto paper, yardstick or even fabric with the ice cube paints.

Water Balloon Catch: Fill water balloons with water, then place in a large bucket. Two people toss the water balloons to each other, trying to keep them intact as they throw them. If you have four or more people, you can make it a competition and see who keeps the most water balloons from bursting open.

Sprinkler Fun: Turn on the sprinklers and let your kids play tag in the yard. They’ll have fun and cool down at the same time!

Water Balloon Baseball: Fill water balloons with water, then place in a large bucket. One person tosses a water balloon to another person, who is holding a plastic bat. See how many water balloons the plastic bat can pop.

If you’re heading to the pool, water volleyball, Marco Polo and ring tossing are all fun games to play in the water.

Whether you’re in the water or out, water games are an excellent option for cooling down and making memories with your keiki.
