Agencies collaborate to help students with special needs.

This Statewide Community Council is a network of cross agency collaboration for students with special needs in the Department of Education (DOE) system who either receive or are eligible for agency services in order to bridge the gap in resource delivery. Our goal is to continue to grow the participation of agency representatives and parents. We work on system issues, promote community awareness, and support various youth driven events. This is a Statewide Community Council which allows for broad sharing and learning about needs throughout the State of Hawaii.

We have meetings every first Thursday of the month from 3-4:30 pm at Hale Mahaolu Ekolu Community Center in Waiehu Terrace at 717 Makaala Drive. Come join us and bring your agency updates, resources, parent workshop needs and ideas. For more information contact Chad Domingo, Community Development Specialist at (808) 586-5363 or Tara Sabado, Professional Co-Chair at [email protected].
