Free Parent Education Classes
Classes are offered at no cost, with childcare provided. Based on the Nurturing Parenting Curriculum, parents explore various parenting topics with children enjoying their own class, with separate facilitators who work with the kids (ages 1-13) through songs, stories, arts & crafts and free play. (Infants are welcome to attend with parents in the parent classroom). Class takes place 1 day or evening a week for two hours for 9 weeks. Ongoing enrollment, classes start every January, April & September. Locations this year include: Kihei, Lahaina, Wailuku & Makawao.

You will learn to make clear observations about what is in conflict with your values; to honestly express how you are feeling without insulting; to find out what your needs are in this situation and to make a specific request in relation to your needs. You will learn to compassionately understand the feelings and needs being expressed regardless of the form of the messages.

Ingrid Bauer, an author and compassionate parenting advocate, will be visiting Maui from British Columbia to bring us this special workshop.
Learn how to avoid speaking in patterns that create resentment, resistance and conflict. Create relationships based on connection and trust rather than "power over". Share your deepest values and balance your own needs with your child’s. Reconnect when things are tough.

Full Moon Tidepool Exploration

7:00 pm They are two hours in duration. Ages 6 and over.
Brittle stars, urchins, octopi, oh my! Pacific Whale Foundation's marine educators invite the public to meet some of the fascinating creatures that roam Hawaii’s tidepools at night during our Full Moon Tidepool Explorations. Participants are asked to wear sturdy shoes and bring a flashlight. Refreshments will be provided.
